The bush animals talk about the power of man

I haven’t posted anything in the Bokkos (“Alis i Run”) variety of Ron for a while. So here is another animal tale written by Rev. Benjamin Matawal. Sorry, I haven’t got a translation. I hope one of your friends  from Bokkos can translate it for you.

Loha i ya si lak ti andok i maɗufal

Loha i ya si shwai, si ni, “Ka ma awen na naya shak ya? Awe ni mbai, ma njeng ma andok ima ɓi ka fas nye i kaitat ames na naya, nasi naya si kan wa fe hu washashi wa nggwe i mupwet ya.” Si shwai kpolkpol si te kpolos, si nggu’ kikyal ya tasi ndiki, unai loha muyayi si ni a didam mi mbai, unai shini si ni naa njeng hee? Uɓet ti lang kong, fo ti koɗok ti lak naasut, ti ni, “I ɗing ɗeng ima ɓinush, findeli hanut ta, ti hu’ ya, ti ni, “Fwata ati ha?” Ali ti ni ɓin andi, ti hum hu’ ya fwet, ti ni, “Ma nyai fwata ati ha?” Ti taɗasut, amet mbit ndai Unai shini si ni a wer, shini si ni a rafan, shini si ni a kukum, shini si ni a nyes, shini si ni a hwasai. Si ni nna ngga’i nai, ima si lai asumam ames si fas tur tasi ndik, ɓa si ɓin si ɗing ima ɓin. Si fi ɓin ti ɗyai ta saa ti loha i ya: munjengani apil si yes, si kat, a kukum hu didam. Tasi findel i ɓele ɓin i didam hu kukum ɗaat ɗingi kwa, si fwar shala ya, ayis nai rangang ni ɓin i mbayai ames i muyayi a shishat. Unai si kin kukum ii makaai i njeng ɓur ti futut ames kek kyan shini mwatan wop ka’us. Kat ɓa si shangi a we ma ti andok ya? Kukum ni a maɗufal ma luweti, a ni si lulus, unai ni ha ata lo’ amayi hu njengi, shingat ima maɗufal ani ma ti, ma wa kof sa andok hal u fwora. Unai murum ni, “A maɗufal ma lususi ani, mazarwaleng ani, ahon a ɗama ma ta keli waak?” Murum maas kukum uɓet hai fwet, murum ni, “Nna i ɗingus fwor sus mwashi mawa zan sun myan kwa.” Sin laki andi kukum ɗing maɗufal mafar niin ta malen, ni, “Yoowaa – maɗufal nai yes kwai ku wa mba ti fyarat ya.”  Unai kukum lakus ni, “Ha tiya nati, yin i wayun mufot na wii mwal i hai musya niin, ɓur ti naa ha wa mot i fwal ɓur ti mupwet asa. Si mbit ɓeti ti, maɗufal ru, murum lang rututut, ɓa u wa u har maɗufal u mat ti kel, unai maɗufal mafar ani wop zan ti foti kpanka niin ta wii rukul, murum ɓu fo ya, maɗufal hwis ti ta fo, unai fo ti kpankai ta zotut ta fo, murum mba re’i wet, lyau lang waya shulshul, lang furus ahwes, langus ti’ ti shishi ta mwatani, unai kukum ro kel ta wii mwal i musya, unai maɗufal to’us sa atat, si maas findelal hu kukum hai ta nyai, ɓa u ka’ mulut, u yes kel ames, kan zan futut ti yis kwa, ɗin sin a uɓet hu murum tasi hai maɗufal, sin laki andi unai yis mupwak ya, adeng ima ɗin lakus nai mwashi ɗingi awei ahon a fyarat ɗak. Mwashi ha maasi a tini murum u pwet ɓur ti i lakus ɗama niin waak? Unai maɗufal ni ma wa maasi u pwet unai kukum ni bum ma yus, unai maɗufal wa sere’ fajin ta mas i murumi unai fo ti kpankai ti nzeret ya pul wop ha’ i ya kang, hwi ti ta wii i rukul ɓur ti kan kukum ɗingi u maasus shingat hai u forus.  Unai kukum lak murum ni, “Ha ɗing aɗeng ima i laka mwashi, ɓur ti andi mweena maɗufal ma luweti mai. Didam ɓinus lo’, yin i ɓingus jeng, shak ta andii ni ma ta takfai i shingat ames.” Ta keli kukum layus yis maɗufali wa fas mal i hwasai pyoron ima fwarusi maɗufal mafar ani wis kafaf.  Ayis nai loha i ya si fa ti maɗufal nye i andok tasi hai i ɗamam i naya shak. A ngga’ i nai maɗufal ɓin shak ɗamam i naya ɓur ti aben i shangi ames ma akat hu loha i wur ta i yahai.
